On September 2-5, 2024, lecturers from Gunadharma University, Depok, conducted a service activity in the form of a survey and research on marigold flowers in Bali. This research aims to explore more deeply the potential and uniqueness of marigold flowers that grow abundantly in the Bali area, as well as to study various aspects such as cultivation, benefits, and economic value.
Research Locations Visited
This research activity took place in several locations in Bali that are known for the beauty of their marigold flowers, namely:
- Baturiti, Tabanan – One of the areas famous for its agricultural landscape and flower plantations. Baturiti offers stunning views with vast fields of marigold flowers.
- Resalangker Village, Singaraja – This area is known for its rich flora, including marigold flowers which are often used in traditional ceremonies and have high cultural value.
- Desa Plaga, Kintamani – Located in the Kintamani highlands, Desa Plaga is one of the suitable places for flower cultivation research because of its supportive climate and soil conditions.
- Pasar Galiran, Klungkung – A traditional market in Bali that is the distribution center for various types of flowers, including marigolds. This market is a strategic point for understanding market dynamics and demand for marigolds.
